ISEE & SSAT

The ISEE or (Independent School Entrance Exam) is an exam used by private/boarding schools to determine admission. The test is broken into three levels:  Lower Level (5-6 Grade); Middle (7-8 Grade); and Upper level (9-12 Grade).

The ISEE provides detailed insight and is considered an accurate assessment of skill. The test is broken down into five sections: Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, Mathematics Achievement, and a 30-minute essay. The ISEE is considered a parallel assessment to the SSAT.

The SSAT or (Secondary School Admission Test) is an exam administered to students from Grades 3-11. Test results help admission directors in private/independent elementary, middle and high schools with the admissions process.

The SSAT presents three levels: Elementary Level (EL) (Grades 3-4); the Middle Level (Grades 5-7); and the Upper Level (Grades 8-11).

The SSAT consists of an un-scored writing sample as well as multiple choice questions from three separate sections: Quantitative, Reading Comprehension, and Verbal questions.
